Dads Club Hawaii

For dads who show up.

A brotherhood of fathers in the islands, getting better together in the three places that shape a home: faith, family and finances. Nobody here has it figured out. We just keep showing up.

What we're about

Earn the
effortless.

We put in the effort now so life at home can feel easy later. The early mornings, the patience, the promises kept: that's the work that makes the good moments look effortless.

Three places a dad can grow.

Pick the one that needs you most. Each has a verse to stand on, three steps for this week, a 30-day challenge and questions to talk through with the guys.

Faith

Grow roots before you give shade.

Your kids learn what matters by watching what you make time for. A dad who walks with God gives his family something steady to lean on when life gets loud.

"As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."
Joshua 24:15

This week, try

  1. 1Open the Word for 10 minutes before you open your phone.
  2. 2Pray out loud with your kids at one meal. Keep it short and real.
  3. 3Tell your wife one thing you're trusting God with right now.

A Proverbs a day

Read the chapter of Proverbs that matches today's date. Text one verse to a brother in the club.

Talk it over

  1. Where do you feel furthest from God right now?
  2. Based on your calendar, what would your kids say you believe?
  3. Who prays for you by name?
Family

Be there. All the way there.

Presence beats presents. Your wife and kids don't need a perfect dad; they need one who is paying attention, keeps his word and comes home ready to engage.

"Ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord."
Ephesians 6:4

This week, try

  1. 1Give each kid 20 minutes one-on-one, doing what they pick.
  2. 2Phone in a drawer from dinner until the kids are in bed.
  3. 3Plan a date with your wife. Book the sitter yourself.
30 days

The bedtime blessing

Every night, tell each child one specific thing you're proud of. Name it. Don't just say "good job."

Talk it over

  1. When did your kids last have your full attention?
  2. What does your wife need from you that she's stopped asking for?
  3. What did your dad do that you want to repeat, or break?
Finances

Steward it so it doesn't steer you.

Money stress follows you home and sits at the dinner table. A simple plan, made together, turns money from a fight into a shared goal and gives your family room to breathe.

"The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want."
Proverbs 21:5

This week, try

  1. 1Sit down with your wife and look at last month's spending together. No blame.
  2. 2Write a one-page plan with three lines: give, save, live.
  3. 3Pick one debt and write down the date it will be gone.
30 days

One-category fast

Pick one spending category (eating out, gear, online orders) and skip it for 30 days. Move what you save into an emergency fund.

Talk it over

  1. What money habit did you pick up from your dad?
  2. What would change at home if money stopped being a fight?
  3. Who could you ask to keep you honest on your plan?
